Novel Writing?

Currently I am attempting to write a 20 page or more novel. This really is my first time doing this sort of thing. I need some suggestions to a lengthened writing piece. My topic I have in mind are actual events in my life narrowed down to a 5 to 6 year time period.

Well, just from some of the ideas i've tried to put down, I noticed that the beginning was always the hardest thing to do, and after that transitioning through different ideas. One way you could go about writing to avoid getting frustrated with the story on the first page is to do the ending first, then the beginning. Once you have those two done you can see the timeframe for your work, but still leave plenty of room for fluxuation in the middle if you want to change what you put in.

Write the part you feel the strongest first. The rest will develop around it. Keep up the good work!
